Konca Kuriş (1960 - June 20, 1999) was a Turkish writer who advocated for Muslim women's rights. She was married and had five children. Kuriş was kidnapped in 1998 and subsequently murdered in Konya at the age of 38. Allegations indicate she was a former member of the Turkish Hezbollah, but later opposed the organization. She was tortured for 38 days by its members before her death, which they filmed. Her remains were buried in a shallow grave and Hezbollah later admitted responsibility for her abduction and execution.
