Maetani Koremitsu was a Japanese manga artist born on December 8, 1917, in Tokyo, and passed away on October 23, 1974. He worked as a propagandistic artist for Tōhō before being drafted to mainland China in 1939. After World War II, he transitioned to comic drawing, debuting with 'Kasei no hachi-chan' in 1951. He is best known for creating the popular comic series 'Robatto Santōhei' in 1955, which advocated against war and was later published in twelve collected volumes. Other notable works include 'Dairake nitōhei' and 'Gokuraku shinshi'.
