Kōsetsu Minami, born on February 13, 1949, is a renowned Japanese folk singer and former leader of the band Kaguya-hime. He is originally from Takanaka, Oita City in Oita Prefecture. Minami graduated from Oita Maizuru High School and dropped out of Meiji Gakuin University. He gained fame with Kaguya-hime's hit songs such as 'Kandagawa', 'Akachouchin', and 'Imouto'. After the band disbanded, he continued his successful solo career with hits like 'Yumeichiya' and 'Natsu no Shoujo'. He currently resides in Kitsuki City, Oita Prefecture.
