He began his career by winning a talent competition in 1975 and later performed in musicals, including 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. Bigalis debuted in 1983 with an English album titled 'Big Alice', featuring the hit 'I Miss You'. He shifted to Greek music in 1989 and represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 with the song 'To trechandiri (Diri Diri)', finishing in 14th place, accompanied by a group called The Sea Lovers.
