Kōsuke Matayoshi (May 1, 1921 - April 8, 2004) was a Japanese military officer who served in both the Imperial Japanese Army and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, achieving the rank of Army Captain and later, Army Reserve Major General. He was the first head of the Okinawa Liaison Office and played a significant role during the negotiations involving the Japanese government, Self-Defense Forces, and Okinawa Prefecture during the return of Okinawa to Japan. Matayoshi was a student of Okinawa's first governor, as well.
