She served as a Member of Parliament from Araku constituency, Andhra Pradesh, winning the 2014 Indian general elections as a candidate from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). She established the Jana Jagruti Party in 2018 and switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019. Geetha holds degrees in Arts and Education from Andhra University. Despite controversies surrounding her ST community membership, she has been active in state politics and related societal issues.
