Kōzō Hattori (March 10, 1924 - October 8, 2009) was a Japanese musicologist renowned for his deep knowledge of Western music history, particularly Baroque music. As a professor emeritus at the Tokyo University of the Arts, he contributed significantly to the dissemination of Baroque music in Japan through his writings, translations, and radio programs. He was also involved in the establishment of the Musicological Society, now known as the Japan Musicological Society, and dedicated many years to teaching music theory at the Tokyo University of the Arts, advancing musicology in Japan.
