Kōzō Nishida was a Japanese freelance writer, local historian, and publisher, born on February 16, 1933, in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture. After dropping out of university, he worked as a reporter and in a chamber of commerce before founding Kōfūsha Publishing in 1976. He also hosted the 'Sanriku Regional Comprehensive Magazine.' His home was completely destroyed in the Great East Japan Earthquake, leading him to live in evacuation in Yamagata Prefecture until his death on December 27, 2016.
