Krista Saar was an Estonian textile artist born on December 20, 1945, in Pärnu. She graduated from Sindi High School in 1964 and studied textile coloring and artistic design at Tallinn Technical School, graduating in 1970. She worked as a textile artist in Estonia from 1970 to 2011 and created costumes for productions in various Estonian theaters, as well as for the Finnish National Opera and Vilnius Opera Theatre. Saar also led workshops in Vilnius, Stockholm, and Gothenburg, and at the Estonian Academy of Arts from 2010 to 2014.
