She played at the University of California, Los Angeles and was part of their women's volleyball, basketball, and track & field teams. Porter participated in the 2002 FIVB World Grand Prix and currently serves as the head coach of the North Texas Mean Green volleyball team, having been hired on December 26, 2021. Additionally, she has coaching experience at multiple institutions including the University of Colorado, Navarro College, and Robert E. Lee High School.
