Krister Anders Victor Höckerstedt, born on August 8, 1942, in Tornio, is a Finnish physician and surgeon recognized for his contributions to the field of surgery, particularly liver transplantation. He is an emeritus professor of surgery at the University of Helsinki, where he earned his doctoral degree in 1979 and later served as an associate professor and full professor from 2002. Höckerstedt has authored numerous articles and textbooks, and he was honored as an honorary doctor by the University of Tartu in 2011 for his long-standing contributions.
