Kristien Bocken is a Flemish writer born on July 9, 1957, in Borgerhout. To date, she has authored five children's books, several Flemish films, a Histoflash, and an Okapi. Two of her books, 'Een doolhof in mijn hoofd' and 'Ratko', were nominated for the Dutch Children's Jury. Bocken grew up in a family of writers, as both her grandmother and mother were poets. She is currently involved in volunteering with the Dutch language, although her writing has taken a backseat due to health issues.
