Kuniji Miyazaki was a prominent Japanese banker, who served as the president and chairman of Dai-ichi Kangyo Bank, as well as chairman of the National Bank Association and vice-chairman of the Japan Business Federation. His career was notably marked by the scandal surrounding the bank in 1997, which involved illicit payments to corporate extortionists. On June 29, 1997, while under investigation for his role in the scandal, he tragically committed suicide at his home. He was born on January 15, 1930.
