Kuninori Uesugi is a Japanese space engineer born on April 18, 1943. He specializes in astrodynamics and systems engineering. He earned a PhD in engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1977 with his thesis on optimizing low-thrust multiple rendezvous. Uesugi has held several prominent positions, including associate professor at the University of Tokyo's Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, professor at the Ministry of Education's Institute of Space Science, and professor at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Space Science Research Center. He is also recognized as the 32nd head of the Uesugi family.
