Kurt Appel is an Austrian religious philosopher and Catholic theologian born on October 28, 1968, in Tulln. Since 2011, he has served as a professor of Theological Fundamental Research at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna. His research focuses on the question of God, the formulation of a theory of time and history, the interpretation of Hegel's philosophy and German idealism in light of postmodern thought, and the development of a new humanism through interdisciplinary dialogue. He is also concerned with the theological and philosophical significance of the European project.
