Kurt Hermann Simke was a Nazi criminal and SS-Scharführer born on July 20, 1913, in Bennewitz, Germany. He served as a Blockführer (block leader) at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. In 1970, he was tried in a West German court for his crimes as part of the Sachsenhausen crew trial, where he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted murder of a prisoner. His sentence was upheld by the Federal Supreme Court of Germany on August 2, 1972, and he was released in 1971.
