Lieutenant Colonel Kushal Chand, MVC, was a distinguished officer in the Indian Army known for his courageous efforts during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1947-48. Born on 26 September 1919, he played a crucial role in halting the advance of Pakistani forces into Ladakh. Due to his bravery and leadership, he is celebrated as one of the 'Saviours of Ladakh', sharing this honor with other notable figures like Thakur Prithi Chand, Bhim Chand, and Chewang Rinchen. He passed away on 9 April 1957.
