Lachezar Filipov (January 26, 1953 – December 20, 2021) was a Bulgarian astrophysicist, professor, and ufologist. He was the son of former Bulgarian Prime Minister Grisha Filipov. Filipov graduated in astrophysics in the USSR and worked at the Institute of Space Research in Bulgaria. He was elected as the scientific secretary of the World Consortium for extraterrestrial contact. In 1987, he received the 'Tsiolkovsky' award from the Russian Academy of Sciences for his contributions to space science.
