Lakēs Chalkias (Mihalis) is a Greek singer-songwriter, musician, and artist born on August 30, 1943, in Ioannina. He comes from a musical family, with his father being clarinetist Tasos Chalkias. He plays five instruments and has been singing since age seven. Over his career, he collaborated with many notable figures in the Greek music scene and presented his work, '2,500 Years of Greek Music, from Homer to Present,' at the Herodes Atticus Theater in 2002. Politically, he is associated with the Communist Party of Greece.
