He served as Vice Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia for two terms from 2004 to 2014 and was a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman from 2016 to 2021. Laode Ida holds degrees in Community Development and Non-Formal Education and Sociology. His academic contributions include a noteworthy dissertation on Nahdlatul Ulama. He has worked in various educational and social programs throughout his career.
