Lars G. Thelestam, born on July 4, 1939, in Helsinki, is a Finnish-Swedish theater and film director. He has directed three feature films along with television series and films in both Finland and Sweden. Thelestam received director training from Yleisradio and studied film at the Stockholm Film School from 1966 to 1968. His debut film, Gangsterfilmen (1974), was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and won a Jussi Award for Best Foreign Film. He has also worked in theater across various Finnish and Swedish institutions.
