Throughout his career, he held various roles, including program editor for Swedish programs, head of the Swedish TV department, and eventually became the program director of Yle TV1’s cultural and informational programming until 1992. He was married to Stina Gunnel Jansson and had a daughter, author Henrika Ringbom.
