Lasse Johannes Velmala (1944-1986) was a Finnish musician and influential figure in the underground movement of Turku during the 1960s. He gained notoriety through a feature in Hymy magazine, where he was photographed cycling naked through the city. Velmala released his debut single 'Murtuneen sydämen hotelli' in 1971 with the backing band Yellow. He studied biology at Turku University and later worked as a teacher, also being an avid birdwatcher and founding member of the Turku Ornithological Society.
