Lauri Viita was a Finnish poet and writer born in Pirkkala on December 17, 1916, and he passed away in Helsinki on December 22, 1965. Despite his relatively small body of work, which includes four poetry collections and two novels, he is considered one of the most significant figures in post-war Finnish literature. Among his most notable works are the poetry collection 'Betonimylläri' published in 1947 and the novel 'Moreeni' (Glacial Debris) published in 1950.
