Laurie Silvera is a Canadian thoroughbred racehorse trainer born on July 7, 1939, in Kingston, Jamaica. He has been training professionally since 1975 at various racetracks in the Toronto area, including Greenwood Raceway, where he won three consecutive Spring training titles from 1989 to 1991. On April 13, 2014, he celebrated his 1000th career win in North America, adding to over 200 wins he achieved while in Jamaica. His son, Arthur Silvera, is also involved in horse training at Woodbine Racetrack.
