Leif Bruno Axmyr was a Swedish convicted criminal known for having served the longest life sentence in Swedish history. He was convicted of a double murder in 1982 while on leave from prison, killing his ex-girlfriend and her friend. Axmyr was sentenced to life imprisonment, which was later commuted to 51 years in 2013. After serving 34 years, he was released on 2 June 2016. He passed away on 11 October 2018.
