Helene 'Lena' Fischer, born Helene Schirmann, was a German communist and resistance fighter against National Socialism. She was born on May 28, 1906, in Munich and died on October 14, 1985, in Berlin. During her time in East Germany (DDR), she was a member of the first Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party (SED). However, she was later expelled from the SED and condemned for her actions.
