Lena Fries-Gedin, born Lena Karin Gedin on November 14, 1931, in Örebro, is a Swedish translator renowned for her translations from English and French to Swedish. She is best known for translating the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. In addition to Harry Potter, she has translated works by notable authors such as Ursula K. Le Guin, Anne Delbée, Jeanette Winterson, and Annie Proulx. She is the mother of Eva Gedin, the director of Norstedts Publishing House, and Jessika Gedin, a presenter at SVT, and is also the sister-in-law of Per I Gedin.
