Her primary research interests focus on understanding how animals perceive environmental signals and adapt their behavior accordingly. In 2022, she received a €1.7 million ERC starting grant to study the coral Lophelia pertusa, commonly found in the Trondheimsfjord, examining the functioning of its sensory organs and the impacts of environmental changes on the coral and its ecosystem.
