Helena Barbara Wilhelmina (Leni) Saris was a Dutch author born in Rotterdam on September 23, 1915. She gained popularity during World War II, writing more than a hundred girls' books, selling around eight million copies in total. Although working as a secretary for nearly thirty years, she only devoted herself to writing full-time in 1971. Her stories were characterized by romantic themes without explicit content, often culminating in a happy ending. Saris passed away on December 9, 1999, at the age of 84. Her last book was published posthumously in 2000.
