Leo Fischer was a Swiss entrepreneur born on July 6, 1933, in Neuhausen am Rheinfall. He trained as a radio and television technician and later pursued further education in Switzerland and the USA. In 1962, he became independent and established Europe's first broadband cable television system in Lucerne in 1964, which featured the first Swiss color television broadcast in 1967. He sold his company to Cablecom in 1997 and served as its managing director. Fischer also ran for the National Council as a Swiss People's Party candidate in 1995.
