Sir Leslie Cannon CBE (1920–1970) was a significant British trade union leader, serving as General President of the Electrical Trades Union from 1963 until his death. Born in Wigan to a coal miner, he was a Communist activist and held positions in the union's executive. He exposed ballot rigging in the ETU and successfully litigated against the union. Under his leadership, the ETU merged with the plumbers' union to form the EETPU. Cannon passed away from cancer at the age of 50.
