Lester Knox Coleman III (1943-2021) was an American author and former DEA employee. He co-authored the 1993 book 'Trail of the Octopus,' alleging that a secret drug sting allowed terrorists to evade security in the Lockerbie bombing. Coleman later recanted parts of his claims in court, stating he lied about the details of the drug sting. Following legal issues, he served five months in prison and was subject to home confinement. His story has inspired conspiracy theories regarding the events surrounding Pan Am Flight 103.
