Lester D. Mallory (April 21, 1904 – June 21, 1994) was a notable American diplomat with a strong background in agricultural economics. He served as the first U.S. agricultural attaché in Mexico City and held several important diplomatic roles, including Ambassador to Jordan and Guatemala. Mallory was also a Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs. He contributed to the Inter-American Development Bank and received the Order of the Quetzal from Guatemala. He passed away from a heart attack in California and was honored by a conference room named after him at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City.
