He initially joined Adam and the Ants, where he wrote notable songs. Apart from his music career, he has composed for dance performances and documentaries. He has released five solo albums since leaving The Monochrome Set. As a visual artist and editor, he contributed to academic publications and served on the board of an art education journal. He is also involved with environmental advocacy in the music industry.
