He was the founder and leader of the 'Soyuz' Party and served as a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during multiple convocations from 1994 to 2006 and again from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, he was a deputy in the Supreme Council of Crimea from 2002 to 2003 and 2006 to 2012. Myrymskyi was known as one of the wealthiest individuals in Crimea.
