Li Cunxin is a former Chinese-Australian ballet dancer and the current Artistic Director of the Queensland Ballet in Brisbane, Australia. Born on January 26, 1961, in Qingdao, China, he trained rigorously at the Beijing Dance Academy during the Cultural Revolution. Invited to the USA at 18, he faced challenges regarding his citizenship and family ties. After dancing for 14 years with the Houston Ballet, he transitioned to the Australian Ballet and later became a stockbroker. He is also the author of the bestselling autobiography 'Mao's Last Dancer'.
