Libor Grubhoffer is a Czech biochemist, parasitologist, and molecular biologist born on April 30, 1957, in Polička. He served as rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice from 2012 to 2016 and has been the director of the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences since 2017. His scientific research focuses on ticks, their role as vectors of infectious diseases, as well as virology and molecular biology of vectors and pathogens. He became a member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic in 2015 and served as its president from 2022 to 2024.
