She was a former figure skater and a two-time champion of the USSR in pair skating in 1955 and 1956. Gorlinskaya was also the first Soviet figure skater to compete in the European Championships in 1956. She graduated from the State Central Order of Lenin Institute of Physical Culture in 1965 and trained notable students such as Vladimir Kovalev and Galina Karelin. She passed away on January 15, 2018.
