Līdīya Egemberdīeva was born on March 15, 1951, in the Akсу district of Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan. She graduated from Kazakh State University in 1986 with a degree in journalism. She began her career at a printing house in Shymkent, worked for the Kazakh Literature newspaper, and held positions in the National Policy Coordination Committee and the Pension Agency. In 1999, she moved to Taldykorgan and became the head of a troupe at the Almaty Regional Drama Theater. She also served as a representative for the Qazaq Society in Almaty Region.
