The Lijadu Sisters, Kehinde and Taiwo Lijadu, were identical twin sisters from Nigeria, born on October 22, 1948. They achieved great popularity in Nigeria and had modest success in the United States and Europe from the mid-1960s to the 1980s. Often compared to the Pointer Sisters, their music blended Afrobeat with jazz and disco. In the late 1980s, they withdrew from the music scene, but they made sporadic appearances in the 2010s until Kehinde's death in 2019. They were also cousins of the renowned Nigerian musician Fela Kuti.
