Lionel Ming-shuan Ni, born on December 13, 1951, is the President of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). He previously served as provost at the same university and was the vice rector for academic affairs at the University of Macau from 2015 to 2019. A prominent figure in computer science, he has over two decades of experience at Michigan State University, where he directed numerous Ph.D. students and published extensively on pervasive computing and parallel architectures. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and holds multiple patents.
