Liz Aggiss is a British live artist, choreographer, and filmmaker born on May 28, 1953. Influenced by Ausdruckstanz and British Variety acts, she is regarded as the 'grand dame of anarchic dance.' Notably, Aggiss co-founded Divas Dance Theatre with Billy Cowie, producing several works before pursuing solo projects. She challenges traditional notions of female sexuality and beauty and advocates for the representation of older women in performance. Aggiss holds the title of Emeritus Professor in Visual Performance at the University of Brighton and is an Honorary Doctor at the Universities of Gothenburg and Chichester.
