Lluís Brines Selfa was a Spanish musician born on April 20, 1930, in Simat de Valldigna, Valencia. He began his music career playing the horn in his local band and later joined the army to pursue music studies against his father's wishes. After gaining experience in Madrid and Valladolid, he won a position in the Municipal Band of Barcelona. Notably, he composed the pasodoble 'Simat', which became an unofficial anthem for Simat de Valldigna. Brines dedicated much of his life to music until his retirement in 1986, returning to Valencia in 1989.
