Lluís Claret i Serra is an Andorran cellist born on March 10, 1951, in Andorra la Vella. He comes from a family of Catalan exiles and is the brother of notable individuals including violinist Gerard Claret. Claret studied under several esteemed musicians and debuted at the Palau de la Música Catalana in 1968. He has been a founding member of the Barcelona Music School and has held teaching positions in various conservatories. His recordings include the complete suites of Bach and he founded the Berlin Trio in 2007.
