Lois Towles (April 4, 1912 - March 18, 1983) was an American classical pianist, music teacher, and social activist. Born in Texarkana, Arkansas, she showed an early interest in music, starting piano lessons at age nine. Towles earned a bachelor's degree from Wiley College and later a master's from the University of Iowa. She taught at Fisk University and gained international acclaim as a performer. Towles married Richard C. Caesar in 1956 and shifted her focus towards community activism, particularly on issues affecting women and children.
