After World War II, he worked until 1948 at the Ministry of Forestry of the People's Republic of Slovenia, then at the water management committee in Belgrade. Upon returning to Ljubljana, he became the committee president and later the director of the Water Management Institute in 1960. He contributed to the regulation of various wetlands and rivers in Slovenia.
