She served as the personal chef to Ethiopian Empress Menen II from 1960 to 1962 and continued in this role for Emperor Haile Selassie until his death in 1975. Trenkler's culinary skills and expertise in dietetics contributed to her prominent position in the royal household during a significant period in Ethiopian history. She passed away on September 10, 2002, in Vienna.
