Lorne B. Groom was a Canadian optometrist and political figure who served as a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1952 to 1957, representing Charlotte County. Born on May 13, 1919, in Bocabec, Groom served in World War II and lost both legs. After the war, he practiced optometry in St. Stephen and became active in local organizations. He unsuccessfully ran for a federal seat in 1957. Groom passed away on July 24, 1994, and is buried in the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
