Lorne J. Acquin was an American mass murderer responsible for the brutal killing of his foster brother's wife, her seven children, and their niece in Prospect, Connecticut, on July 22, 1977. He attacked them with a tire iron and later set their home on fire before escaping. The next day, he was arrested and, two years later, sentenced to 105 years in prison. His case is notable as it was the largest mass murder in Connecticut until the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
